Our Cruising Boats
We began our voyage on Nahanni V, a Finnsailer 38 ketch. After planning and refitting the boat for seven years, we left Canada and sailed her for 18 months in the Eastern Caribbean. In an unfortunate accident, she wrecked on the coast of St. Croix on February 22, 2018.
It was a very sad day as our home was ripped apart on the rocky coast. Thankfully, no one was injured and were able to salvage many things from the wreckage.

In November 2018, we became the custodians of Wakataitea, a 46 foot Wharram catamaran. Our friends Michael, Catherine, and their children Enzo and Francesca generously offered us the opportunity to use their boat while they returned to land life.
We plan to sail the Caribbean for the next couple of years...

Love you all and wishing you a wonderful sailing adventure!

Hi John
ReplyDeleteYou have an excellent catamaran, I have been on board not too long after Hans launched her.
I read your thread on the Cruising Forum regarding deliberations on your repairs following your Shaft breaking. I have a 40ft wharram Narai IV and need to improve my shaft set up.
I would be most interested to learn detail s of your final arrangement and whether you have been pleased with the result.
You mentioned Gunther and his use of hydraulics, I saw a Gunther built Wharram in Port Vila this year when there on my catamaran which had a direct mechanical drive from the gear box to the long shaft.
I look forward to hearing from you
Regards
